MechanismOfAction

This drug belongs to a group of drugs called corticosteroids. Corticosteroids decrease the synthesis of arachidonic acid and decrease the concentration of prostaglandins and leukotrienes, and also increase the responsiveness of beta-adrenergic receptors in airways.

Indications

It is used in the treatment of asthma (prevention and maintenance).

Budesotide is in group C of the class of drugs in pregnancy, and if it needs to be taken in pregnancy, it should be used with the minimum effective dose. In breastfeeding mothers, it should be used with a minimum effective dose. In breastfeeding mothers, it should be taken if the benefit of the drug in the mother is greater than any possible risk in the infant.

Precautions

The use of this drug in patients treated with carbamazepine, phenytoin, phenobarbital and other drugs that increase the activity of cytochrome P3 A4 decreases the blood concentration of budesonide.The medicine should be taken as prescribed and not stopped suddenly without the doctor's notice.

Eye complications including blurred vision may occur during treatment with this drug. Therefore, inform the doctor of any changes in vision.If you have pulmonary tuberculosis, any untreated bacterial, viral or fungal infection in the mouth, airways or lungs, and severe liver disorders, consult your doctor before using this spray.

SideEffects

The drug may rarely cause swelling of the face, skin rash, itching, contact dermatitis and bronchospasm in some patients, in which case the patient is allergic to inhaler budesonide HFA and treatment should be discontinued.

Taking this drug can cause thrush (fungal infection) in the mouth, which is reduced if the mouth is rinsed with water after taking Inhaler. It may also cause sore throats, coughing and hoarseness.

AmountAndMethod

The drug is taken as an oral inhalation. (See how to use the spray correctly).

In children, 100mcg/puff should be used.

In adults, use 200mcg/puff.

In children aged 6 to 11 years:

100 micrograms (one puff) twice a day at the beginning of treatment. This dose can be increased to 400 micrograms (4 puffs) per day.

Dosage in adults:

200 mcg in the morning and 200 mcg in the evening at the beginning of treatment. This dose can be increased to 800 micrograms (4 puffs) per day.

Maintenance

• Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.

• Avoid taking expired medication or storing it for longer than needed.

• Store this medicine at a temperature of less than 30 degrees Celsius and in a place where there is no high humidity.

• Because the medicine container is full of gas and under pressure, avoid hitting it, puncturing it, or burning it, even if the container is empty.

• Avoid freezing and storing the medicine at low temperatures.
