Indications

This medicine is used in the treatment of colds and symptoms of influenza, sinusitis and hay fever. Acetaminophen is a pain reliever and fever reducer.

Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine that reduces the chemical effects of natural histamine in the body. Histamine can cause sneezing, runny nose and tear secretion.

Phenylephrine is an anti-congestion that relieves nasal congestion by constricting the blood vessels in the nose.

Dextromethorphan is a central antitussive that works by inhibiting the cough reflex.

UseDuringPregnancy

The use of this drug during pregnancy is in group C and is allowed only with the prescription of a specialist. There are not enough studies and evidence available that this drug harms the fetus.

This drug is secreted in breast milk and may harm the infant, so it is not recommended during breastfeeding.

Precautions

  • This drug should not be taken at the same time as monoaminoxidase (MAO) inhibitors.
  • If you have glaucoma, diabetes, thyroid disorders, high blood pressure, liver dysfunction and prostate hypertrophy, consult your doctor.
  • Taking large amounts of medicine may cause anger, dizziness or insomnia.
  • To prevent insomnia and restlessness, it is better to take the medicine a few hours before going to bed.
  • If the illness lasts more than 7 days or if the fever is severe, consult a doctor.
  • This drug interacts with phenytoin, rifampin, and carbamazepine, so tell your doctor if you are taking any of these drugs.
  • Taking Soft Cold at night may cause drowsiness, so avoid driving and working with tools that require full alertness.
  • Avoid simultaneous use of the drug with other products containing acetaminophen.

SideEffects

Any drug, along with the desired therapeutic effects, may cause some unwanted side effects. Although all these side effects are not seen in one person, consult a doctor if any of the following side effects occur:

  • Increased blood pressure, headache, reflex tachycardia, dizziness, drowsiness, restlessness, tremors, digestive disorders and dry mouth.
  • Taking Soft Cold tablets at night can cause drowsiness due to the presence of Chlorpheniramine, so it is recommended to avoid driving and activities that require alertness. Patients with high blood pressure and heart diseases, especially cardiovascular diseases and heart failure, and those with shortness of breath, should consult their doctor because the drug, due to its vasoconstrictor, can aggravate heart disease.

How to use soft cold:

Adults and children over 12 years old: 1 capsule every 4-6 hours up to a maximum of 8 capsules per day.

During daily activities, use soft cold day orange (color) and soft cold night (blue color) when sleeping.

Maintenance

  • Soft Cold Day and Night is marketed in the form of 30 boxes including two blisters of 10 orange soft gelatin capsules and one blister of 10 blue soft gelatin capsules along with a brochure.
  • The medicine should be stored at a temperature below 25 degrees Celsius, away from light and moisture, and freezing of soft gels should be avoided.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
