The class of cephalosporins antibiotic drugs
Injection vial: Zoxime® 500 mg, Zoxime® 1 g
This drug is one of the third generation cephalosporins, which are bactericidal and inhibit the construction of the bacterial cell wall.

Pregnancy: Although no studies have been conducted on pregnant women and no side effects have been proven for humans, therefore, the benefits of the drug should be weighed against its harmfulness.
Breastfeeding: This drug is secreted in small amounts in milk. So if necessary. Administration of this drug in lactating women should be done with necessary precautions.
Consult your doctor before taking this medicine in the following cases:
- In case of history of allergy to any penicillin, cephalosporin; Penicillin-like drugs, penicillamine or other substances such as foods, preservatives and dyes.
- In case of kidney diseases, stomach and intestinal diseases.
- If taking any type of medicine.
In parallel with the desired therapeutic effect, any drug may cause some unwanted side effects. Although not all of these side effects can be seen in one person, consult a doctor if any of the following side effects occur:
Allergic effects: rash, itching and fever.
Liver Complications: Temporary Enhancement of SGOT, SGPT and Alkaline Phosphatase, Blood complications: eosinophilia and thrombocytopenia.
Local side effects:
At the injection site: burning, phlebitis (in case of intravenous injection), pain, cellulitis, stiffness, sensitivity to pressure and touch, and tingling.
Poisoning:
If you consume more than the amount recommended by the doctor, take the patient to the hospital.

Amount of medication:

Adults:
Mild to moderate infections:
One gram every 8-12 hours by intramuscular or intravenous injection.
Severe infections
One gram every 8 hours or 2 grams every 8-12 hours by intramuscular or intravenous injection.
Children aged 6 months to 1 year:
50 mg per kilogram of body weight every 6-8 hours by intramuscular or intravenous injection.
Children under 6 months:
The safety of taking this medicine and the effectiveness of this medicine at this age have not been determined.
How to take the medicine:
Zoxime® 500 mg:
Add 1.5 and 5 ml of injectable sterile water for intramuscular and intravenous injection, respectively; Shake well.
Zoxime® 1 gram:
Add 3 and 10 ml of injectable sterile water for intramuscular and intravenous injection, respectively, shake.
After the powder is completely dissolved. Do not inject if you see foreign particles.
The color of the resulting solutions can vary from colorless to yellow and even amber. Otherwise, avoid injecting the drug. These solutions are stable for 24 hours at room temperature and refrigerator.
In case of intravenous infusion, dilute the initial solution with 50-100 ml of 0.9% sodium chloride solution for injection or 5% dextrose for injection.
